Global protests to stop Zionist genocide!

Hamas is calling for global protests to mark the 600 days of Israeli genocide and starvation as the partisans keep up the f ight against the Zionist aggressors in the shattered buildings and streets of the Gaza Strip. International efforts to end the f ighting continue but the Palestinian resistance movement has denied reports that it has accepted an American-brokered cease-fire plan, saying it failed to address their core demands.

SWR returns to public ownership

South Western Railway (SWR) returned to public ownership last weekend, marking the first major move in the Labour government’s plan to renationalise the rail system. The rail union RMT said that this was as a step in the right direction but warned that continued out sourcing of essential frontline services risks undermining the benefits of renationalisation. Key roles such as Cleaning, Security and Gateline remain contracted-out to private profiteers including OCS, STM Group, Carlisle Support Services and Adecco. These companies raked in nine per cent gross profits from public rail contracts last year while employing staff on poverty wages, without sick pay or decent pensions.
